What is indoor axe throwing?

Axe throwing as an indoor competitive sport has taken off in Canada over the past decade. Similar to darts, axe throwing is an individual sport played with and against other members of a group. Individuals throw 1.5 lb. axes at wooden targets marked with a bullseye and score points based on where on the target they stick the axe.

THE THREE RING CIRCUIT

Come one, come all: 3(ish) tournaments, over 3 days, at 3 venues!

The long-awaited sequel to Detroit Axe's 2019 Women's Tournament is finally here! The 2k23 edition is dubbed TheThree Ring Circuit: The Women's Tournament is the main event of the circuit, hosted at Detroit Axe Ferndale on Saturday, October 14th. However, a skillz tournament, doubles tournament, and a marathon will fill out the circuit's festivities — each hosted at a unique Detroit Axe location.

Half of the entry fee to each event is going to the prize pool. The Women's Tournament has a guaranteed minimum $3,000 prize pool — and every Three Ring Circuit event will have its own TBD prize pool.

Friday, October, 13th

FREAKY FRIDAY SKILLZ

LOCATION: Detroit Axe Corktown

COST: $40 - open to everyone

TIME: 7PM

FORMAT: Random rotating skillz. Be prepared to throw all the classic skills, and beyond. Bring multiple axes! Double elimination style tournament.

Saturday, October 14th

WOMEN'S TOURNAMENT & DOUBLES TOURNAMENT

LOCATION: Detroit Axe Ferndale

COST: $100 for the women's tournament - open to all who identify as a woman - $80 per team for doubles - open to everyone

TIME: 9AM check-in, 10AM start time. - doubles starts immediately after the women's tourney, approx 6pm

FORMAT: -Women's Tourney: IATF Premier Rules, double elimination -Doubles: standard rules, double elimination.

Sunday, October

15th PREMIER MARATHON

LOCATION: Detroit Axe East

COST: $120 - open to everyone

TIME: 9AM check-in, 10AM start time

FORMAT: 28 matches + playoffs in one day. IATF Premier rules.

You will be able to pick which tournament(s) you want to participate in when booking.

The Women's Tourney is open to all who identify as female.

If you are doing doubles, only one member of the duo needs to register the team (please communicate with your doubles partner so as not to book twice for the same team)

You can also pre-order the limited run tourney t-shirt for $25 if you register before September 22 ($30 at the door until we run out) as well as the tourney poster for $12 ($15 at the door)
