Individuals throw 1.5 lb. axes at wooden targets marked with a bullseye and score points based on where on the target they stick the axe.

Ideal for groups of five or more, reservations include a private arena, instruction from our Axe Masters, and the chance to battle it out tournament-style. Food and drinks are available before, during, and after your session.

Walk-Ins

If you're flying solo or planning a last-minute night out, walk-ins are welcome during operating hours. Sessions last 1 hour and are priced at $25 per person. You may be paired with other guests depending on lane availability, but that just adds to the fun.

What should I wear to an axe throwing session?

For safety and comfort, we require all guests to wear closed-toe shoes—sneakers or boots are ideal. Avoid sandals, flip-flops, or heels. We also recommend wearing comfortable, non-restrictive clothing that allows full range of motion for overhead throws. Think t-shirts or breathable long sleeves, and avoid tight-fitting tops that could limit your movement.

Can I bring my own food or drinks to Detroit Axe?

We offer a full-service bar and kitchen with a variety of food and drink options to enhance your experience. Outside food and beverages are not permitted, allowing us to maintain health and safety standards for all guests. Our menu includes a range of appetizers, entrees, and drinks to suit various tastes.

What is the minimum age to participate in axe throwing?

Participants must be at least 14 years old to throw axes at Detroit Axe. Those under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Our on-site axe masters will help everyone in your party learn how to safely throw an axe!

How many people can participate in a single arena?

Each axe throwing lane at Detroit Axe can accommodate up to 8 participants. For larger groups, multiple lanes can be reserved to ensure everyone has ample space and time to enjoy the activity. Our staff is happy to assist in organizing group events to suit your party size.

Is axe throwing safe for beginners?
